Trend Windows and Doors closed down the manufacturing side of its Taminda business this month.
Jeld-Wen Australia, the parent company of Trend Windows, would not confirm how many jobs were made redundant, however said it was less than 20.
Jeld-Wen Australia CEO Peter Farmakis said the business had “transitioned the Tamworth production facility” to its Cardiff operation in Newcastle, which would “improve our manufacturing efficiencies and maintain our overall competitiveness”.
“The Tamworth branch will remain open and continue to support and service the local New England market from a sales and distribution perspective, and be supplied by the Cardiff manufacturing facility,” he said.
“The key customers have been informed and supportive of this move.
“It’s our policy not to comment on headcount reductions, but, your number [of 20 jobs] is too high.”
