It’s en route through 44 countries in 2019 during a torch relay with no panhandling or political push, rather a dream to promote goodwill across the nations of the world.
There was a short ceremony at Ray Walsh House to welcome the runners.

The peace run honours a local champion in each town it stops to celebrate people “who have worked to better the lives of others and have inspired their communities through their own lives and deeds”.
The peace runners recognised Multicultural Tamworth founder Eddie Whitman and his work to help resettle thousands of migrants into the city over the last four decades.
The Australian leg of the Peace Run team is made up of 13 runners who are aged between 19 to 64 years.
Several countries are represented on the team including Australia, UK, Brazil, Portugal, Ukraine, Austria, Germany, Norway and the US.
The realy arrived in Australia on February 12 and will travel from Brisbane, following a scenic inland route through central NSW, the ACT, Victoria.
It will conclude in Melbourne on March 1, before heading to New Zealand.
