The 22-year-old started timelapse videos around a year ago recording "cool-looking clouds" around her home.
Located around Church Street, Kirsten was in the perfect position to see smoke from the Tingha fires rising from the mountains outside her window.
"I thought it would be a good idea to do a timelapse of the smoke. The first one I took was on Tuesday morning around 11am. Then I took a second video later around 3pm," she said.
Being up on the hill in Inverell ensured nothing was blocking the view. Kirsten said she didn't expect it to be such a powerful video.
"I tried again on Wednesday but it wasn't as impressive because of the dust that had come over and settled in the air. I shared the video on Facebook and it had 400 views in no time," she said.
