The school will open the curtain on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang next week, with five shows on the program after almost 12 months of rehearsals.
Production manager and deputy principal Peter Weary said some of the most-loved moments from the 1968 film would be "quite spectacular" on the Carinya stage.
"It’s a very technical production: lots of props, we have a big car on stage," he said.
"There's been some challenges that have had to be worked through, with lots of support from lots of people to make it happen … but that’s all part of putting a production together."

The plot follows Caractacus Potts - played in this production by student Calvin Sproats, 17 - and his two children's adventures with the eponymous and onomatopoeiac flying car.
Calvin said he'd seen the film as a very young child and it was fun to be in one of his favourite scenes.
"I really like the song-and-dance scene Me Ol' Bamboo … jumping around the stage with blunt bamboo sticks trying not to clock each other in the head."
Isabella Bonnell, 15, who plays the child-hating Baroness Bomburst, said the show had allowed her to "be strong and confident" in her singing and acting.
"I love the musical; it's given me such a fun thing to do."
Calvin said that, with Year 3 to Year 12 involved both on- and back-stage, it had also been a great chance for the students to make connections no matter their age.
The school puts on a show every two years; previous ones have includes Seussical, The Sound of Music and Oliver.
- All are welcome to the show, w hich opens on Wednesday night, February 20, and continues the next two Friday nights and Saturday afternoons.
