Forensic material and a significant crime scene statement have been handed to Green’s defence solicitor Frank Falcomata, Tamworth Local Court was told on Wednesday.

Green is accused of the murder of young mother Teah Rose Luckwell in her south Tamworth unit on March 28 last year, after a neighbour found her body and reported it to police.

“It was listed for committal today given the forensic material served, but since that time there’s further forensic material with a crime scene statement,” Mr Falcomata said.

“And it’s the most significant crime scene statement yet.”

Already more than 7000 pages of evidence have been tendered in the case.

Green did not appear on Wednesday, but magistrate Julie Soars granted both parties a further eight weeks to review the new evidence.

“It’s up to you Mr Falcomata, your client is in custody – but if you want eight weeks to review the evidence that’s your decision,” Ms Soars said.

Bail was not applied for and formally refused, Green is set to return to court in April.

The last time the matter was in court both Mr Falcomata and DPP Cat McKay came under fire from magistrate Roger Prowse for the ‘lengthy delays’ in the case.

Almost a year has passed since the matter first landed in court, meanwhile Green remains in custody at Silverwater Correctional Centre.

Police allege Green knew Ms Luckwell before he allegedly attacked and murdered her on March 28.

He’s yet to enter a plea to a raft of charges including murder, resisting police, damaging property, larceny and using an offensive weapon to commit and indictable offence.
