Tim Tamworth – as it shall be known on Saturday, National Tim Tam Day – has been named regional NSW’s biggest consumer of the Aussie biscuit.
It will host “a day of Tim Tam activities in a country-style fete” including family-friendly games, challenges and tastings.
And if your technique could use some work, a chief slam officer – former MasterChef contestant Poh Ling – will explain “the perfect Tim Tam Slam”.
A spokeswoman for the biscuit company said that, according to “internal data”, Tamworth residents were “among some of the nation’s biggest Tim Tam lovers in Australia: no. 1 in regional NSW and no. 5 in regional Australia”.

The activities will be held in Fitzroy Plaza, but the program is yet to be released.
Tamworth Regional Council said in a statement: “Arnott’s has been part of the Australian community for over 150 years and National Tim Tam Day is a special treat for our community.”
However, it said there was “no commercial or ongoing partnership arrangement in place between Arnott’s and Tamworth Regional Council”.
“Tamworth Regional Council has provided approval for Arnott’s to use two of Council’s billboards (one on the City Pool and one on the Sydney highway near Timbumburi) at their cost to advertise the day.
“Arnott’s also received approval through Council’s event application process to hold the event in Fitzroy Plaza.
“Mayor Col Murray will participate in the festivities on the day.”
