As Tamworth prepare to take on Walcha at No.1 Oval on Sunday, for a spot in the February 24 final, Hazlewood has said the future of Tamworth rep cricket is in good hands.
Hazlewood returns to the side for the Walcha clash, having played in undefeated Tamworth’s round-one away win over Moree.

His Old Boys skipper, Ben Middlebrook, who is also Tamworth’s captain, had asked him to be involved in the Connolly Cup campaign this season, to help with the development of the side’s young brigade – players like teens Joey Mead, Josh Attard and Henry Smith.
“It’s always good to watch the young kids coming through,” Hazlewood said.

“I obviously didn’t know most of these young kids up until the first game. There’s some good young kids coming through that you don’t normally see.”
