Ian Jeffery Werribone was denied bail in Tamworth Local Court on Thursday on charges of aggravated break-and-enter in company, break-and-enter and stealing.
The 20-year-old is accused of breaking into the Birrelee MACS Child Care Centre in Macgregor Street on February 1.
He’s accused of committing the break-in in the company of another male and rummaging through the centre before fleeing with a small amount of cash.
Police allege he then committed a second break-and-enter shortly after.

Police said the occupants had just finished work and returned to the Dennison Street home when offenders broke in at 3.30am.
Once inside, they stole keys and took off with a grey Toyota Kluger as well as a white Toyota Corolla.
The Corolla was found dumped in Chisholm Crescent about 5.20am by police.
The Kluger was found later on Thursday dumped at a West Tamworth address.
