Notoriously dangerous, the intersection of Garden Street and Hillvue Road will be fixed-up with a $610,000 grant.
“I’m always looking for ways we can improve road safety right across the region and today’s announcement is a concrete example of what we can achieve when we put in the hard work,” Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson said.
There have been nine car accidents in five years at the intersection, seven of those resulted in injuries to the driver and passengers.
At least 7000 vehicles pass through the intersection every day.

The design work for the proposed new roundabout is expected to start in March.
The construction work for the project is pegged to begin in the next financial year.
Members of the community were also invited to attend drop-in sessions about the upcoming work with the installation of new traffic lights at Jewry Street and Manilla Road.
Almost $21 million has been invested in Manilla Road.
