Inverell police have launched an investigation after several incidents of nails being scattered across a roadway near an Inverell school.

The public warning comes after school resumed and tyres of cars being damaged.
Police said reports have come in of nails scattered across Henderson Street, between Wood and Arthur Streets, near the Inverell Public School.
Police said as a result of the malicious damage the nails have damaged tyres on a number of cars in the area.

Officers fear for the safety and have “serious concerns” for children walking to the school in the area after the school term resumed this week.
Police are appealing for public help to identify who is responsible or if anyone has seen suspicious behaviour of persons or vehicles.
