TAMWORTH’S own Aleyce Simmonds has cemented her spot in in the industry, joining seven others to be inducted in to the Country Music Hands of Fame.

Along with Simmonds, Robyn McIntosh, Lindsay Waddington, Gina Timms, Ashley Cook and Ross McGregor joined the list of country music’s biggest and brightest names that are cemented in the Hands of Fame Park.
Simmonds said she couldn’t be more honoured.
“I cried a lot. I’ve seen a lot of people receive this same honour and I’m not sure I deserve it but, I’m going to treasure this memory forever,” she posted online.
“Thank you so much to all who have stood by me over the past 15 or so years. It’s been quite the journey and it’s only just begun.”
Ron Adsett and Rosie Adsett – who for almost half a century, have been involved in every aspect of the Australian country music industry – were also recognised in the 2019 ceremony on Saturday morning, at the park on the corner of Kable Avenue and Brisbane Street.

The pair were the major country music retailers in the county.
The Hands of Fame Park was established in 1977 by Radio 2TM as a tribute to people who have made a name for themselves in Australian country music.
The Hall of Fame, on behalf of the Tamworth Regional Council determines each year those to recognised with the handprint in cement.
Chair of the Hands of Fame Committee Lorraine Pfitzner said the Hands of Fame tells the story of the industry’s rich history and bright future.
“This year’s inductees are in good company, joining artists including Slim Dusty, Smoky Dawson, The McKean Sisters, Allan Caswell, Shirley Thoms, Keith Urban, Beccy Cole and Lee Kernaghan,” she said.
