A MAN is set to appear in court on Sunday after being charged with stabbing three people in a domestic dispute in Tamworth overnight.

It is understood at about 10.25pm on Saturday night a 21-year-old man was arguing with his 21-year-old girlfriend in the front yard of a Coorong Street home.
The man’s 40-year-old mother intervened and as the younger woman walked towards the house she was stabbed in the abdomen.
In trying to stop the incident it is believed the 40-year-old woman received serious lacerations to her forearm.

A 34-year-old man also tried to intervene and was stabbed several times to the torso.
Emergency services were contacted and police from Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced a search for the 21-year-old man.
The three injured people were conveyed to Tamworth Base Hospital.
It is believed the 40-year-old woman will be flown to John Hunter Hospital while the 34-year-old man will be airlifted to the Royal North Shore Hospital.
With the help of the community, police used a police dog to track down the man and arrest him at 12.20am on Sunday morning.
The 21-year-old was taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was later charged with two counts of wound with intent to murder, wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and resist arrest.
The man was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Bail Court later today.
