Two local police officers have been flown to hospital after they were shot last night while working in Glen Innes.

Police said the pair suffered gun shot wounds about 10.50pm, after responding to a domestic assault in Church Street.
A male sergeant was shot in the face and a female senior constable was shot in the neck.
Police are set to address the media at midday on Saturday to explain the horror events from Friday night.
The injured officers were both taken by paramedics to Glen Innes hospital. The Westpac Rescue Helicopters from Tamworth and Lismore were called and one of the choppers airlifted the pair to the Gold Coast hospital.
The male officer is in a stable condition. The female officer is understood to be in a serious but stable condition, police said.

A third officer on scene, a female probationary constable, was uninjured.
Back-up was called in and specialist officers were deployed to the scene after a perimeter was established.
Less than an hour after the shooting, the body of a 74-year-old man was found in the home.
A 59-year-old woman was also found nearby suffering minor injuries.
Police have confirmed they’re not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident but a critical incident investigation is under way.
A road block has been set up at the corner of Heron Street and the New England Highway as specialist police comb the scene.
Many locals heard the sirens on Friday night and awoke to the horror that unfolded in the quiet street.
The shooting has shocked residents in the town and the wider New England police community who are rallying together behind their injured colleagues.
A crime scene has been established at the home and will be examined by forensic specialists on Saturday.
A Critical Incident Investigation Team from Western Region will also investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident and the actions of police.
That investigation will be overseen by the Professional Standards Command.
