And that’s one of the reasons the gallery and creative space is holding art play workshops for children these school holidays.
“As adults I feel we can lose that – we’ve got to make sure kids don’t lose that creative side, that they can grow with that and have it in their everyday life,” she said.
The workshops are being run this week by artists Kristi Latimore and Nicole Browning – who also works with children with special needs.

Bec Browning said the kids had worked on galaxy painting, Aboriginal dot painting, mosaics, thumb-print painting and puppet-making.
“Kids are quite creative – you’ve just got to give them the right tools and encouragement,” she said.
And that was what Splash on Peel was all about: “Letting adults know that you can bring back that creative side”.
“It’s all about letting adults be a kid again, letting them know it’s OK to have fun and your art doesn’t have to be perfect.”
The art play workshops continue next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for children 6-12 years and those aged 13-16 years – and Creative Kids vouchers are accepted.
As for those more inhibited adults, Splash on Peel’s first Drink & Draw workshop for 2019 is just around the corner too, on February 9.
