A utility reversed into a service station storefront on Ogilvie Street just after midnight, removing the teller machine before the car fled.
The Hunter Valley district police pursued the vehicle from Denman Road through Muswellbrook, terminating at Quirindi when the ute entered a paddock.

Police said the utility could not be located despite a search of the Green Tree Close property and surrounding area.
Investigators attended the Quirindi property later on Thursday, finding and seizing the ATM.
It will be forensically examined.
Inquiries are ongoing.
