THESE kids only wanted one thing these school holidays: to have a ball.
Tamworth Regional Council launched its school holiday program at the sports dome this week, as many working families have gone back to the 9-5 daily grind.
The kids got busy kicking and paddling away any inkling of the holiday blues with a range of organised sport on offer.
There are a variety of different sports kicking off down at the dome for the school holidays to keep the kids moving, including futsal, badminton, volleyball, tee-ball, dodgeball, basketball, table tennis, ultimate frisbee, cricket and everything in between.
The program runs Tuesday to Thursday from 9am to 3pm this week and next.
Children must be aged between 5 and 12 and enrolled in the program in order to attend with a fee of $40 per child, per day – and spots are limited.
There is still a bevy of free activities for kids to get stuck into these holidays.
The Youthie has some varied programs running in the coming days, including a movie night on Friday, a touch footy night on Monday, and a health and well-being workshop on Tuesday.
The Tamworth Regional Youth Council will be hosting a free pool party in Nundle on January 25. There will be a free bus service from The Youthie on the day.
