Kootingal Hotel publican Andrew Yeo said the total tally had edged towards $40,000.
While the monetary windfall was miles ahead of expectations, Mr Yeo was equally overwhelmed with the support shown by the Kooty community and his staff.

“It was such a good day,” he said.
“My staff were exceptional, it was unrelenting for eight hours.
“Those days aren’t successful unless everyone plays their role.
“That little community in Kootingal are just so tight-knit.”
He’s counted about $38,500 in the wash-up of mullet-minded merriment, which doubled his wildest expectations going into the event.
But it’s not the first time Mr Yeo and his family have fronted-up a whopping sum for motor neurone disease.
Along with the Bath family, they organised the Champs, Cramps and Challenges MND Ball about three years ago which rallied more $120,000 for research.
Mr Yeo was unsure if the mullet fundraiser would grow into an yearly event.
“We'd like to do it on an annual basis,” he said.
“But it was such a special day, how do replicate that each year?”
Mr Yeo said the most lucrative locks belonged to Rob Klump who pulled in the more than $1100 with his mullet. The pub’s chef, Josh Brinkman, won the people’s choice award.
