And it will be a busy festival for the dynamic Queenslander.
“I’m doing a lot, I think I’ve got two gigs every day,” Brooke said.
“It’s a mix between solo acoustic stuff, and for the first time I’m doing a bunch of band gigs, which I’m really excited about.
“My songs sound so different acoustically to what they do when I record them, so it will be exciting to be able show off both.”
The Iron Shackle Band, a Tamworth-based group, will be backing Lambert at her band gigs.
The first single off the new EP, I Don’t Wanna Hate You, was released late last year.
The track was written with one of Lambert’s best friends, Nina Ward, about a toxic relationship that completely consumed her life for more than a year and is based on the concept of looking at a bad relationship through rose-coloured glasses.
It will be Lambert’s second EP, following her debut release Right Now, which climbed to #4 on the iTunes Country Chart.
Late last year, she also released a video for I Don’t Wanna Hate You, which was produced by Daniel Turner, from Head North Films with Geordie Smith, also from Head North films, coming on board to assist with directing.
Lambert, who hails from the Gold Coast, has become a festival regular in recent years, and credits the festival with inspiring her musical ambitions.
“I remember when I went the first time I just loved it so much, and it’s probably forever going to be my favourite country music festival.”
While Lambert was not performing that first year, she said it inspired her to return and perform.
“I just met so many inspiring people that year, especially women my age, getting out there and sharing their stories and singing their songs. I just remember walking around thinking ‘I can do this’ and it just inspired me so much.
“When I got home from that festival I started going to open mics, and that’s pretty much where it all really started for me. And when I go back it’s just like a huge family.”
