Lynch-Whitton was recognised for her contribution to the local junior competition as the Sportsmans Warehouse community sports award recipient for December.
As well as helping source players and sponsorship, she also coaches junior teams.
Among those is the misfits t-ballers, who she has had for the last four years.
It is very much a labour of love, one that started when she first stepped onto the diamond.
“I’ve been playing since I could play t-ball,” she said.

From there Lynch-Whitton started coaching as well.
Moving to Tamworth four years ago, she was keen to get involved in both a playing and coaching capacity.
She said it is “all about fun” and spoke about there being nothing better “than seeing their little faces light up when they hit a ball or get home and at the end of the season when I hand their trophies over and they are so proud”.
Her passion for the game is shared by her family with all five of her children playing across the the different competitions on offer.
Also playing herself, Lynch-Whitton’s Saturday’s during the season are pretty well spent down at the softball fields.
She is currently out injured but normally plays as a pitcher for Strikers.
The season is currently half-way through.
