Despite several dropped catches and a strong start by City openers Troy Hearfield (39-ball 55) and Dan Whale (29-ball 29), Old Boys had way too much firepower for a team with serious premiership aspirations.
After stopping the bleeding with a slew of quick wickets, to restrict City to 8-133, Old Boys passed the total in the 15th over.
Simon Norvill (36-ball 45) and Aaron Hazlewood (24-ball 32) had a 91-run opening stand for Old Boys, with No.3 Mitchell Swain (17-ball 34) helping maintain the side’s irresistible momentum.
Hazlewood was Old Boys’ most effective bowler, taking 3-28 off four overs.
