Free entry for kids and a DJ kickstarted the party at 4pm with dozens of local teens lapping up the water in the searing temperatures.
The party was made possible after the youth council secured a $48,000 grant from the state government to help roll-out a range of events for local youngsters.
The group – which boasts nine members across the Tamworth Regional Council area – has planned 12 events for 2019 using the funding.
Next on the calendar is another pool party that has also been planned at Nundle on January 25.
