The Bush Blues’ defence of their national title ended on Thursday in a loss to Western Australia that meant they went winless through their four one-day games.
They did, however, defend their T20 title after winning all four of their games including the final against Queensland.
We played pretty well in the T20s and then just started off on the wrong foot in the one-dayers.

O’Neill’s South Tamworth teammate, Tom Groth, made his debut as NSW captain at the carnival.
Playing in a second consecutive national championships, O’Neill featured in only one T20 match – bowling one over.

However, he played three of the four subsequent one-day games – saving his best for last: 1-18 off 10 overs in a six-run loss to WA on Thursday.
That was his only wicket of the championships.
“I bowled what was required of me,” O’Neill said, adding that he "hit the right lengths” in the final-round clash against WA.
Despite NSW finishing second last, O’Neill said the players were not deflated at the conclusion of the carnival.
“We played pretty well in the T20s and then just started off on the wrong foot in the one-dayers,” he said.
