The New England Rural Crime Prevention Team are investigating the disappearance of 65 mixed age Merino wethers from a property on the Wellingtonvale Road at Emmaville, near Inverell.

The missing sheep were part of a mob of 264 and the loss has taken place in small amounts over a number of months commencing June 2018, with the latest theft being between October and December 2018.
The missing sheep are described as mixed age Merino wethers, some were in full wool when taken and some were shorn in September.
Some of the sheep are also fitted with NLIS ear tags with the PIC Number “NE511838”, police said.

The Rural Crime Prevention Team at Inverell are keen to speak with anyone who may be able to assist police on the whereabouts of the missing sheep or who might have sighted anyone or any vehicle acting suspiciously in or around Wellingtonvale, Tenthill or Gulf Roads at Emmaville.
Police said the theft was another warning for landholders to report stock theft promptly, regardless of the small numbers of stock.
