Groth, the South Tamworth and NSW Country wicketkeeper, passed Moore’s mark of 70 games, in the Bush Blues’ Twenty20 win over Victoria on Thursday.
“It’s something I’m obviously very proud of,” he said. “I’ve always been proud to represent NSW, and to do it on so many occasions … Yeah, it’s great."
Groth was named Bush Blues skipper for the first time this year, and is currently leading the side in defence of their country cricket championships, at Shepparton, Victoria.
The skilled gloveman is competing in his 11th consecutive country championships. He is a three-time Australian Country representative and two-time NSW Country cricketer of the year.
