Two years after he broke through for the biggest win of his career Armidale’s Sam Jenner has again found himself standing on the FedUni Cycling Australia Road National Championships podium. Riding for Team Wiggins Le Col Jenner was third in Saturday’s under-23 men’s road race. Ballarat young gun Nick White powered away in three-way sprint to take out the title, which Jenner won in 2017. White had just metres to spare from fellow breakaway riders Michael Potter and Jenner, with a fast-finishing 19-strong peloton just four seconds adrift. Jenner and White made their move on the final climb of the 127.6 km race, later to be joined by Potter.
