POLICE say revellers were well-behaved on New Year’s Eve but property crime and domestic violence kept officers run off their feet in Tamworth.

Several people were charged with DV-related offences and given conditional bail or denied release on New Year’s Day morning.
Officers were also hunting the driver who led police on a pursuit in South Tamworth at about 11pm on Monday.
Police attempted to stop the silver Great Wall in Robert Street due to the manner of the driving when the car took off.
Officers initiated a pursuit which continued through South Tamworth for a short time before it was terminated because of the dangerous manner of driving.
Police were carrying out checks on the vehicle but are trying to establish who was behind the wheel.
Meanwhile, several locals had their new year celebrations turn sour after falling victim to thieves.
Residents were asleep inside their Gunn Place home between midnight and 7am on New Years when offenders forced their way in through the front door and stole several goods.
Between 4am and 5pm on Monday, thieves gained entry to a John Street home through an unlocked door.
Once inside they stole personal documents, electronic goods and jewellery.
No one was home at the time.

A car parked in a driveway in John Street on Monday afternoon also had a wallet stolen between 4 and 7pm. Police said the car was left unlocked.
A Parry Street home was also broken into between midnight and 1am. Police said cash, a phone and other personal items were taken after thieves entered through an unlocked door.
Meanwhile, one local is counting the costs after several power tools were stolen from a locked shed in North Tamworth.
The shed off Macquarie Street was broken into between Boxing Day and December 31, police have been told.
And, a Kent Street business also lost an amount of gardening equipment after thieves struck during the festive break.
Police said the front door of the business was forced open between 3.30pm on December 28 and 11am on December 31.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information on the break and enters or who might have witnessed suspicious activity to contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999.
