“The popularity of this event has been off the charts,” Bingara Show Society president Russell Smyth said.
Riders from around the region will gather at the Bingara Showgrounds for more than 12 hours of action, using cattle from the surrounding areas.
“We have 500 confirmed entries and unfortunately had to turn another 500 away,” Smyth said.

The cancellation of several other campdrafts around the region helped prompt the surge in entries for Sunday’s event. “It’s a pretty popular sport to begin with,” Smyth said.
“As well as that, we had to cancel our annual campdraft at the show this year due to the dry and that has really left people keen to get into it.
“Coupled with the recent cancellation of the Upper Horton campdraft, the region is really excited to get together, have a ride and take a break from the dry.”
Sunday’s event will also see plenty of entertainment away from the course with hot food, kids entertainment and music.
“We have been really lucky to have our local Vinnies come on board and take care of the food side of things for us,” Smyth said.
“Our focus is to provide a family-friendly day for both locals and visitors to enjoy.
“With 12 hours of riding and plenty of stuff happening throughout the day, it’s shaping up to be a great event.
“There will be something for everyone so hopefully we will have good turn out.”
