A brief, but destructive, storm has rolled through Tamworth this evening leaving a trail of debris in its wake.
Trees were knocked down across the city as the storm ripped through while there were many reports of lost power.
The Bureau of Meteorology clocked winds that reached 80 kilometres per hour out at the Tamworth Airport during the storm.

However, just 0.6mm of rain was recorded at the airport by BOM.
The storm came after a hot, hot day in Tamworth.
The temperature peaked at 35 degrees.
There’s no relief tomorrow with an expected max of 35 before a predicted top of 30 on Saturday followed by a top of 27 on Monday.
