The two well known Tamworthians, former cricket, squash and tennis sportsmen, are intent on helping the West Tamworth Sports and Bowling Club become a popular entertainment spot for young and old alike.
Ken and Ray have already begun a karaoke night at the Belmore Street club and have another session at the club on Saturday from 7.30pm.
They have also used their many and varied contacts in the music industry to attract a wonderful array of artists for the 2019 Toyota Country Music Festival.
Shaylee, Cody Brackens, Pixie Jenkins, Melissa Robertson, Katie Hindle, Danny Phegan and Longreach, Bobby Howson, Dion Larkins, Two Blokes From The Coast, Those Gals and The Long And Short Of It are all booked in from January 18 to January 27.
“The majority of them are free shows, the patrons don’t have to pay anything,” Ken Grills said.
“A few are charging but most are all free so we can help the club.”
The two twins are excited about the lineup.
“They are all outstanding acts,” Ray Grills said.
“Shaylee is fantastic.
“The Two Blokes From The Coast are very entertaining, very funny with their bush poetry and songs.
“Cody Brackens is from just one of the talented locals too.

Both hope to produce a diverse program that will entice patrons.
