On Wednesday, thousands of students across the region will be jumping for joy as the clock ticks closer to six weeks of fun, sun and laughter.
Many private school students have already completed the term, with local schools farewelling students last week, including borders.
Wednesday marks the end of the NSW official public school calendar.
For many year 6 pupils, it’s goodbye to their primary days, and no doubt there will be some who shed a tear after seven years of schooling life in their second home.

As thousands of HSC students prepare for the next big step, year 6 pupils are also facing the prospect of starting all over again in high school next year.
Many teachers at public schools will continue to work through until the weekend with Thursday and Friday classed as school development days.
