Police allege the man sexually or indecently abused seven young girls, aged under 16 at the time, in the Inverell area between 2002 and 2012.
The first charges were laid in June last year and date back 15 years. Lawyers for the accused have said their client wanted to find the quickest pathway to get the matter to trial.
The accused remains in custody and is bail refused.
