The Tamworth Friendship Knitting Group is a name that gives a lot away about what the group does, but not many know about them.
But if you saw their work, then you would know they don't sit still.
The Tamworth Friendship Knitting Group presented 19 rugs to the Tamworth hospital’s renal ward as well four rugs to the local Auxiliary ladies.
It capped off another busy year for the knitters, and every year they keep getting bigger. To date, the group has donated 380 rugs to 21 organisations in the Tamworth area.
President Ann Burrows said the group meets every five weeks at Tamworth’s Inspirations Cafe.
“We sew and knit the squares and make them into rugs,” she said.
“Our group has grown in the last four years and it’s been a great journey to have these lovely local ladies reach out and support the community.”
The group will take a freak over the festive season and will meet again in March – and they’re always on the hunt for more knitters.
“We will start again in March and will continue on helping others with our lovely knitted rugs,” Mrs Burrows said.
