
THE new traffic lights on Marius Street will be switched on this Tuesday.
Roadworks have been ongoing at the intersection of Marius and Fitzroy street since June this year.
The NSW government funded the project to improve pedestrian safety and traffic efficiency, while Tamworth Regional Council has been carrying out the work.

It is understood the traffic lights outside the conservatorium of music will be switched off from Tuesday.
Traffic had been reduced to one lane in each direction on Marius Street with only the inside lanes open to motorists.
Tamworth Regional Council voted in favour of a recommendation from the Roads and Maritime Service in early 2017 to install traffic lights at the Fitzroy Street intersection.
Pedestrian safety in the CBD was highlighted as the main factor in the intersection upgrade.
