Moustaches went under the hammer at Farrer on Friday as the senior students dug deep to raise over $10,000 for Movember.
Every year for the past five the school’s incumbent year 12 students go all out on the men’s health charity, sporting a combined 43 mowsers this year, even if a coupe did reach for the mascara to add some extra value on the final day.
Team leader Tyson Hubbard said Movember is a major event on the calendar every year, and something that students look forward to doing.

“We are an all boys school so we thought it was important to break down that stigma of blokes always having to have that tough image,” he said.
“We all go to school together but we are also a community of friends – we want all males to know that it is fine to talk about feelings and open up to each other.”
Over the month the boys raised an incredible $7600 in online donations, and were hoping to eclipse the five figure mark with the fundraising auction on Thursday afternoon.
Former student and Davidson and Co auctioneer Hunter Harley did the honours, with the top bidders for three students and three staff members lip hair having the honour of owning someone else’s lip hair for the afternoon, or doing the honours of shaving it off.
