From seeing significant growth in junior registrations to fielding first and second-grade senior sides, after a 10-year absence, the club has a lot to celebrate.
To top off the season of success, Inverell FC has just been named Northern Inland club of the year.
Inverell president Anthony Alliston was proud to accept the gong from Northern Inland Football general manager Julia Farina in Tamworth.
The award recognised the hard work and commitment of Inverell FC committee members, volunteers, players and parents involved in the 2018 season.
Alliston highlighted a number of factors contributing to the honour of receiving club of the year.
In 2018 Inverell FC had more than 450 registered players, 46 junior teams and two senior teams.
After a 10-year absence from the he New England League, Inverell FC’s first and second-grade sides made themselves known.
The seniors won four of the five trophies for the season, including Mann Cup where they beat South Armidale in the final. They were also second-grade major and minor premiers and first-grade premiers.
Inverell FC hosted a successful club carnival where 30 teams took the field. The club also had a number of individuals play in the State Cup including Noah White, Will De Gunst and Julian Rhodes in under-12, Connor Wilkins in under-11 and Charlotte McInnes in the girls squad.
Furthermore, De Gunst and Rhodes will be joined by Sam McLennan and Kane Salvador when they travel to Borneo with the NIF squad.
Inverell FC has also fielded teams in every National Primary Games since its commencement, and in 2018 won the spirit of the games award in under-7s and under-14.
Off the field, the club has focused on upskilling coaches and referees, hosting six skills acquisition programs.
A positive relationship with Inverell Shire Council has resulted in numerous successful grant applications. The club also became accredited with the Good Sports program in September.
