Manager of entertainment venues Peter Ross said: “It’s a year for celebration - 2019 marks 10 years of entertainment on the Capitol Theatre stage.
“It’s a year to celebrate the cultural change that has been driven by adding a theatre to the city’s arts and cultural landscape.
“It’s a year to celebrate our local performing arts companies who laid the foundation many years before 2009 and who have grown and flourished since the Capitol was opened.
“It’s a year to celebrate our city and its community who have embraced the arts and supported its growth which in turn has contributed to a strong sense of civic pride and a city that is ‘livable’ with new residents growing daily.
“It’s a year to look to the future as council explores a new performing arts centre and arts precinct which will serve the city into the next 10 decades and beyond.
“It’s a year to celebrate the past, the here-and-now and the future.”
