My mother who is 87 years old and living with dementia was until last Friday (16/11/18) in the rehabilitation ward at the base. Unfortunately due to a shortage of 45 beds across the hospital she was sent home.

Now I understand that other patients with more urgent needs take priority, however it seems that a lack of planning, for future community needs is responsible for this situation.
Less than 3 years after $220 million was spent upgrading this facility such bed shortages are by all accounts common place.
What does our local member Kevin Anderson have to say about this? Who in NSW Health is responsible for this debacle?
If the hospital can’t cope now, what is going to happen in the future?
Why wasn’t a greenfield site with room for expansion on Goonoo Goonoo Road considered.
