Alanah Holz (seven year’s age group), Rubie Cathro (nine year’s age group), Olivia Holz, Juliah White and Georgia Ford (10 year’s age group) will all travel to Darling Harbour on December 1 to take part in the national championships.
Kootingal Physie and Dance member Terrie Holz said the club performed well at the zone competition.
“Of the 16 children who represented the club at zone five went on to be selected for nationals,” Holz said.
“As a club, it was a massive achievement to have girls compete in all age groups, in both team events and the individual Champion Girl competition, in the clubs first year.”

Holz said the club had come a long way since forming at the start of the year.
“Seeing where these young ladies have come from when they commenced at the start of the year, has been inspirational and rewarding,” she said.
“All of the girls have shown dedication and determination whilst working hard to learn the syllabus.
“These young ladies and their results are a credit to themselves, and their teachers Kiara Northey and Taylah Hannon.
“Kiara and Taylah have dedicated an enormous amount of time and energy into teaching these young ladies in a friendly, inclusive and supportive environment.”
All five girls will have two weeks to prepare, before they take on the nation’s best dancers.
Holz said the club had offered its student’s more than “just dancing.”
“There has been friendships develop and hopefully they will be life-long friendships,” she said.
“For some club members it has been more than just dancing, they have developed socially and gained confidence that has been incredible to witness.
“I think it’s fair to say that we as a club are excited about what’s ahead.
“We are looking forward to representing Kootingal in our journey to national championships.”
