Christmas always comes early to Currabubula with the local P&C’s December boutique market being held on Sunday, December 2.
This year will see the largest number of stalls at the event since it started in 2015. Over 60 market businesses will set up at the local public school and they will be coming from across the New England, North West and Hunter region of NSW.
Market organiser Mrs Veronica Filby is confident everyone will find a perfect Christmas gift at this year’s event.
“We have so much variety this year and lots of brand new stalls as well so you can find that special gift for everyone in your family,” said Mrs Filby.
“Our stall holders will be selling home décor, clothing, jewellery, body products, furniture, plants, toys, garden sculptures and heaps more.”
The event is a fundraising initiative of the Currabubula P&C and has grown to be an incredibly popular event each year drawing over 1000 visitors to the village.
“Our event is a great morning out for the whole family’, said Mrs Filby.
“Not only do we have beautiful market stalls but we also have a delicious homemade cake stall, BBQ, face painting, jumping castle, book fair, coffee van and amazing local live music.
“We will also be selling our custom made Currabubula Boutique Market jute bags which will have lots of discount vouchers inside which can be used on the day with our stall holders.”
This year money raised through the market events has gone to helping with costs of school excursions for all students.
It has been a welcome assistance to all families this year who have been struggling with the drought and the additional funds have ensured that no student has had to miss out on any opportunities provided by the school.
The market is run completely by volunteers and Mrs Filby credits the local parents and community members with the success and growth of the event over the last four years.
“Our parents, grandparents and staff at our school all give up their time to make sure the event runs smoothly and it is all their efforts and wonderful friendly faces which makes our event such a drawcard for our village and region.”
The Currabubula Christmas Boutique Market will be held in the grounds of Currabubula Public School on Sunday the 2nd of December from 8am – 12noon.
