The NSW Business Chamber and Tamworth Business Chamber have joined forces to promote a new comparison tool.
“An independent report on NSW Energy Prices by St Vincent de Paul identified Tamworth as having the highest combined energy cost of approximately $4,090,” said NSW Business Chamber regional manager Joe Townsend.
“This is 16 per cent more expensive than any other areas in NSW.

“It is estimated that people living in regional and rural NSW are bearing the brunt of high electricity prices, paying up to $1,000 more for power each year.
“If residents of Tamworth are paying the highest energy prices, than businesses are too.”

In a recent Business Conditions Survey conducted by the NSW Business Chamber, nearly 60 per dent of local businesses identified rising energy prices as their main concern, particularly with the drought.
“Presently politicking seems to trump good policy, with little relief in the immediate future,” Mr Townsend said.
Tamworth Business Chamber president Jye Segboer said they joined as a partner to “maximise the benefits to the Tamworth Business Community”.
“This community solution allows a business and the general public to submit their latest bill online at energy.nswbusinesschamber.com.au and request a phone call to obtain an energy comparison with no obligation.”
