Nicholas Dobson has been granted bail and will fight one allegation he supplied a prohibited drug after fronting Tamworth Local Court on Thursday.
The 32-year-old Tamworth local was arrested in South Tamworth McDonald’s on Tuesday night after patrons and staff called police, reporting a “disheveled” male who appeared to be intoxicated by alcohol acting suspiciously.
Witnesses told police the man dropped a small clear plastic container on the ground inside about 7pm.
According to police, witnesses watched the accused bend down and pick up the container, containing a white substance, and put it back in his pocket.
After observing the accused for sometime, patrons told staff who alerted police.
Officers arrived shortly after 7.30pm and approached the accused who they claimed to have been disheveled and affected by alcohol.
They had cause to search the man and during the search seized a clear plastic container containing a white powder.

Dobson was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station where police claim the package contained 21.52g of what they allege is cocaine.

He was charged with supplying more than an indictable quantity of prohibited drugs and refused bail.
During a bail application in court on Thursday, Dobson pleaded not guilty to supply.
Magistrate Julie Soars granted Dobson conditional bail to live in Tamworth, report to police three times a week and abstain from drugs unless prescribed by a doctor.
The case will return to court in December.
