The local radio host entertained the crowd at the Tamworth Business Chamber’s annual Melbourne Cup Breakfast on Tuesday morning with his call which ended up coming true as he called Cross Counter in first past the post.
Along with the phantom call, there were sweeps along with best dressed man, best dressed woman and best fascinator competitions.
Tamworth Business Chamber executive marketing manager Jill Stewart said the breakfast, held at the Tamworth Jockey Club, was a fun way to network.
“We like to hold it in the morning so everyone can come along,” she said.
“It’s a fun way to network and kick-start the day.”
Roughly 50 people attended the breakfast.
