The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) advises home owners to be prepared with a bush fire survival plan in the event of a disaster.
It comes with the NSW Government set to consider tougher penalties for offenders who are caught lighting fires.
The government will seek to increase the maximum jail sentence for NSW’s targeted bushfire offence from 14 years to 21 years.
The bill is expected to be introduced into Parliament on November 13.
