A BUSH walk, a back rub and a bacon and egg roll: this weekend’s first edition of the massage on the mountain certainly had all the winning ingredients.
So it wasn’t much surprise to hear how rapt organisers were with the strong turnout which trekked up Flagstaff for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service fundraiser.
The Massage Escape's Heidi Burchell said about 60 people got a very scenic rub-down on Saturday morning.
While the donations were still being tallied, Ms Burchell said it was fantastic just to give people an incentive to get active.
Westpac Rescue Helicopter events coordinator Jeff Galbraith said the organisation would look at making it a regular happening on the Tamworth calendar.
He said it was “incredibly humbling” to have the Tamworth community consistently show support for the chopper service.
“It puts a lot of responsibility on us to ensure we’re involved with things that recognise the importance of the service,” he said.
