The 38-year-old clubhouse at Woodville Oval will be renovated and a disabled access toilet will be developed after the Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall delivered a $145,100 government grant to the club.
Tigers committee member Abby Smith is coordinating the project and said the aim is to build a facility where outside community groups can benefit.
“After 38 years since the original building was built, getting it upgraded will not only help the club, it is going to be an opportunity for the community to have functions and schools to hold their touch days and things like that,” she said.
“It is just going to be an all-round, updated facility.

“We do own our ground and there are council facilities but I think once we get this done and the way the club is going in the future, there are so many opportunities.”
Smith believes the addition of a disabled access toilet will just make the sport and the facilities more accessible to everyone.
“So many people that have those disabilities still love their football so there is no reason clubs shouldn't have those facilities,” she said.
“It is just getting with the times, updating it and including everybody.
“Also, we need to keep rugby league going.
“Country Rugby League is not the biggest it has ever been so we just need to find things to encourage [people] and upgrading the club and facilities will draw a few more players and things like that.”
The clubhouse will undergo upgrades to the kitchen area, roller doors added on to the front of the canteen, a new bar and flooring, internal painting, new furniture, new roof and awnings put on.
Smith is hoping the renovations can start in coming weeks in time for the beginning of the Group 19 season in the new year.
