On the back of well-received commissioned artworks produced on water reservoirs at the Oxley Lookout and the Gipps Street playing fields, council could look into applying a fresh lick of paint on nine more sites around town with a vote a Tuesday night.

The proposed sites include: Kootingal Twins – New England Highway, Victoria Park – Piper Street, One Tree Hill – Reservoir Street, Hillvue, North Tamworth – Dean Street, Muroon – Country Road, Calala – Whipbird Street, East Tamworth – Raglan Street, Barraba Range Street and Manilla Reservoir Road.
The cost of painting the Lookout Reservoir was $7,000 and the cost of painting Gipps Street Playing Fields reservoir was $4,700.
If council votes in favour of the more public art, another report will come to council with estimates and recommendations.
