Wasn’t it nice to see the rain again during the week. If you were lucky enough to have received a drop or two, then I hope it’s making a difference.
Unfortunately our dams haven’t seen a lot of the downpours, so water restrictions are looking quite likely by January.
On an inspirational front it was hard to go passed Kathy Kelly.
The mother of one son lost to a senseless one-punch attack and another to suicide, she still manages to make a difference. She told the region’s teenagers putting kindness first could negate the need for resilience.
A little closer to home, we’ve seen some change in the last fortnight too. The introduction of subscriptions means means anyone who wants to read more than just the headlines needs to sign up.
If you are reading this – you already have - and that means you understand the importance of local news, and don’t take the fact that we have journalists working hard in our community, for granted. You understand that it costs to produce the articles you read.
There is a cost involved in sending a reporter to a council meeting on a Tuesday night, or to the courthouse on a Wednesday, or to the football on a Saturday.
I wanted to say thank you also for the feedback. It has been truly humbling to see how important The NDL is to people’s lives and how deeply people care about the journalism that keeps Tamworth connected.
On that note, I’m off to prepare myself for another busy week. Hope yours is a good one.
