THE death of a well-known Armidale stock agent has sent waves of grief through the region’s livestock agents.

Armitage and Buckley’s Victor Moar was killed on October 20 while attending the Geurie Golden Collar Cattle Dog Trial near Dubbo.
The 53-year-old was running for cover when he was hit by lightning and died at the scene.
Hundreds are expected to flock to his funeral in Armidale on Friday.
Gunnedah stock agent Guy Gallen said “it was a very sad state of affairs”.
“Without a doubt he was a very well-known and very well-liked man.
“He was a great stock agent and a pleasure to do business with.
“Suffice to say, he was very well-liked and will be sorely missed.
“My condolences go out to his family.”
Fleming and Ross stock agent Tim Walsh said Mr Moar’s passing was a “tragic event”.
“He was a very good bloke,” Mr Walsh said.
“It was always great to catch up and have a yarn with Victor, he was such a nice bloke.
“He was good to do business with and will be sorely missed in the Armidale community, that’s for sure.”

The grief has extended past the agriculture industry, with youth program BackTrack extending its condolences.
“Victor was a happy, generous and kind man who always provided support to our BackTrack family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him”.
Mr Moar was heavily involved with the program, which involved helping troubled kids through working with dogs.
His family have asked mourners to donate to BackTrack in lieu of flowers.
