The tour, held as part of a Year 10 -1986 to year 12 -1988 QHS reunion, saw past students share stories as they took the tour and a trip down memory lane.
“People travelled from as far away as Western Australia and the television crew from ‘Australian Story’ also met with the students at the school as part of a follow-up story on former QHS student, Ursula Barwick,” said Teacher, Mr Owen.
Last year, the heartbreaking 30-year search to find out what happened to Ursula Barwick saw investigators discover she died in a car accident and was buried under a different name. The circumstances of Ursula’s death are in the hands of the coroner, but her family and close friends gathered in July to farewell her at a private memorial in Sydney.
After a tour of the school, the QHS Reunion group headed to the Quirindi RSL Club for dinner and more reminiscing.
Another QHS Reunion, this time for Year 10 -1988 Year 12 -1990 was held over October 20 and 21.
