A man who escaped from a NSW jail yesterday has been arrested.

Police were on the hunt for 41-year-old Robert Glover after he escaped from a minimum-security correctional facility in Muswellbrook at 6am on Wednesday.

Glover was arrested in a car park on Byng Street in Orange at 7am this morning, more than 24 hours after his escape.

Following a full-scale search, police say they arrested Glover without incident after reports he had been sighted in Orange.

After his arrest, the 41-year-old was taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with inmate escape-attempt to escape from lawful custody.

He was refused bail and is set to appear in Orange Local Court later today.
